Team Himalaya trek and climb of awesome Yala Peak climbing in the most picturesque walking journey to picturesque Langtang Valley, a trek and climb for all types of people, as this trip starts with a moderate walk with uphill climb at your own pace leisure pace with rest and acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa with 3,870 meters the highest point of this beautiful Picturesque Langtang Valley.

Starting with an interesting drive North of Kathmandu on the mountain road to Dhunche town at 1,965 meters high the headquarters and main village of Rasuwa district and Langtang / Ganesh Himal region and down to Syabrubesi a nice Tamang country-type village, where Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and climb begins, walking up high hills into pristine forested area of rhododendron, magnolia, pines and oaks tree lines. Around spring, and summer seasons the region will be a natural garden with hills and valleys with colorful wildflowers in bloom, and in this forest where rare Red Panda, Snow Leopard, and other wildlife many species of birds are found.

Langtang area, Nepal’s 3rd popular trekking area after Annapurna and Everest region protected by Langtang National Park the first Park to be established in the Himalayan mountain region in 1976 AD with an area of 1,710 sq. km. The walk continues with views of stunning waterfalls flowing over high mountain rock cliffs, awesome views of the massif mountains of Langtang Lirung at 7,200 m / 23,622 ft, this whole Langtang range surrounded by Nepal’s second largest Langtang National Park, and visiting impressive villages of Tamang and Bhotias with their old religion, culture, tradition, language, custom are similar of Tibetan origin. Tamang villages are famous for their warm hospitality with their fascinating culture, rituals, traditional woodcraft, and customs.

After days of nice walks reaching the beautiful Langtang Valley at Kyanjin Gompa with time here to marvel at the beauty of high snow-capped peaks and then heading towards the isolated area for the climb of awesome Yala peak soaring high at 5,732 m /18, 790ft one of the least technical and straight forward climb to the summit top offering awesome views of Langtang Lirung 7,246 m, Lenpo Gang 7,083m, Dorje Lakpa 6,990 m and massif Mt. Shishapangma 8,027m on Tibetan side.

The climb is done after ample acclimatization and a nice rest with practice in using climbing equipment, although less technical, however, our Team Himalaya expert guide will fix the route with ropes and make ledges on the path where necessary and will support the group all the way to the top summit and descending safely back to base camp after enjoying the overwhelming panorama of all the snow-capped peaks that dominate the Langtang Valley over the crystal blue skyline.

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On reaching Kathmandu via respective airlines, our TH staff will receive with courtesy transfer to hotels in the center of Kathmandu around the Thamel area, an interesting to be with many shops, stores, and excellent world-class restaurants, with time for a short walk and to buy necessary items for the trip, in the hotel our guide will inform and brief regarding trek and climb and other important things.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

The morning after breakfast at a given time our city and cultural guide will guide you in and around Kathmandu at places of interest and importance, as Kathmandu Valley is full of World Heritage Sites the holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath (Little Tibet), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, preparation for the trip to Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and Climb.

Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m – 07 hours.

This fabulous journey starts with an interesting scenic drive leading past Kathmandu Valley North West heading past nice place Kakani and reaching a warm area of Trisuli Bazaar for refreshment and lunch. After a nice rest drive carries on heading high hills on a narrow winding road but with impressive views of surrounding landscapes and of distant peaks of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal, after a few hours of good drive reaching Dunche town 1,965 meters high, the headquarters and main area of Rasuwa and Langtang region and the entrance of Langtang National Park. After a brief stop here, the drive descends on the winding downhill road for a few hours and arrives at Syabrubesi for an overnight stop. This is an interesting Tamang village the door to many Langtang and Ganesh Himal trekking as well towards Tibet's Northern frontier.

Day 4 : Trek to Lama Hotel 2,430m – 06 hours.

The first walk of this adventure with a slow walk towards a bridge over the upper Trisuli or Bhot Kosi River, and then the trail climbs into a steep hillside after an hour of uphill haul and then on a gentle trail for few hours passing many scattered farm houses wheat’s, barley, millet, and corns terraces, then walking around the bend reaching at Riverside where the trail from Thulo or upper Syabru joins near Bamboo with few teahouses and lodges, after a stop here for a while walk continues with a gradual climb into serene forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines tree lines and entering a river gorge following upstream Trisuli River fed from the glacier of Langtang mountain range, and then after a good walk reaching at overnight stop at Lama Hotel a small place situated in the middle of pristine forest with 6-8 small lodges around.

Day 5 : Trek to Langtang village 3,430m – 06 hours.

From Lama Hotel, start the morning walk on the same trail for an hour and then after Riverside place our route diverts walking through a small settlement at Bamboo place with few teahouses and simple lodges surrounded by bamboo thickets, might be the right place to see Red Panda by chance, starts as the place is in cooler area hidden in a river gorge with dense woodland; walk passes few small settlements and farms, then reaching at Ghoretabla a small settlement with Nepal Army stations as Park wardens, this place located in the middle of beautiful forested area with few lodges around. Stopping here for lunch as the altitude gains slowly and the air gets cooler.After lunch walk continues on overnight stopping at Langtang village a nice moderate-sized village with the Tamang and Bhotia tribes of people with similar customs and culture of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 6 : Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,850m – 04 hours.

Today a walk for a few hours as the morning heads with a short climb and towards a wider country as the gorge opens into a nice valley with snow-clad peaks on both sides of the hills encountering few prayer walls and enjoying the views of mountains as the walk progress leading to Kyanjin Gompa area with more than 15 lodges and guest houses to stay with an old cheese factory, where’s the name Gompa is about to disappear which is a small wooden chapel rather than monastery located on top of Kynajin and Langtang Valley on moraine rocks and boulders on route to Lantang Lirung glacier. A great place Kyanjin in the Langtang Valley the first part the highlight of this trip. Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa are surrounded by green hills and snow-capped mountains of Dori Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Tsego ri, Langshsisa, and Naya Kanga or Ganja la Peak.

Day 7 : At Kyanjin Gompa rest and hike.

Rest day at Kyanjin for energetic people a hike up to near hilltop at Tsergo Ri 5,033m. The climb to Tsergo Ri is quite steep and requires good physical fitness, but offers awesome views of the highest mountains of the central Himalayas. Afternoon at leisure to marvel at the great panorama of Chimsedang Lekh, and the Kangjal Himal, a ridge of peaks bordering the valley to the south, Naya Kanga 5,844m. stunning views of the great mountains flanking the Langtang valley, including Ganchenpo 6,387m, Dorje Lakpa 6,990 m, Pemthang Karpo Ri 6,830m, Langtang Lirung 7,245m and across the northern boundary in Tibet rises the huge massive Shishapangma 8,046 m the last 14th world’s highest mountain.

Day 8 : Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp 4,400 m / 14,435 ft – 06 hours.

On leaving Kyanjin Gompa for the highlights of this trip, walking along the rocky glacier and then to a steep climb through the icy trail to reach a flat camping area of Yala Peak base camp at 4,400m. walk to base camp offers outstanding views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Yala Peak, and other peaks till Yala base camp is reached for the first camp of this trip after being in the comfort of a lodge, base camp with a marvelous view of high massif surrounding mountains.

Day 9 : Trek & Climb to Yala Summit 5,732 m / 18,806 ft to base camp.

Starting early before dawn for the big day of this adventure, the walk leads to climb to the summit depending on weather conditions. This peak is less technical but it takes nearly eight hours to reach the summit and back to base camp.
After a strenuous climb to the summit at 5,732 meters and 18,806 feet, reaching the top dream becomes a reality with an overwhelming success, from the top of the summit overlooking the striking panorama that surrounds you with the the world’s highest mountains lies before you. Yala summit offers breathtaking views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung, and many other mountains on the Tibetan side, after enjoyable and magnificent moments on the top descend back to base camp.

Day 10 : Reserve and contingency day in case of bad weather.

We have reserved an extra day which will be a contingency day, in case of unfavorable weather conditions times in this high Himalayan range, the weather can be unpredictable, so an extra day on this type of adventure is very necessary, if all goes well can used on the way back en route Dhunche, adding a short-day walk enjoying the great scenery along the way.

Day 11 : Return to Kyanjin Gompa -05 hrs.

Leaving Naya Khang base camp, trek to Kyanjin Gompa following the icy trail that steeply descends offering marvelous views of massif Himalaya, enjoying the rhododendron forests, and cross the Langtang River gently ascend to reach the village of Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 12 : Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.

After a wonderful time at Kyanjin Gompa in Langtang Valley, we headed back to the forested area and to Lama Hotel for an overnight stop, walking and retracing the same route for about six hours but interesting and enjoyable walks on a downhill path with a few short ups in between.

Day 13 : Trek to Thulo Syabru 2,211m – 05 hrs.

From Lama Hotel our journey continues with nice views along the walk on the downhill path to a place called Bamboo with few teahouses and lodges, after a pleasant morning walk, from here walk through farm terraces of millets, corn, and wheat depending upon the time of the seasons, on leaving the farm area the path leads uphill on the old landslide sections, the on the winding up a hill path to Upper or Thulo Syabru for an overnight stop in of the good lodge around this nice interesting village, where the houses are joined in a long as a locomotive, Thulo Syabru has an old monastery above the village.

Day 14 : Trek to Shing Gompa 3,330m – 05 hours.

After Thulo Syabru today, the walk is short for 4-5 hours with mind-blowing scenery of hills, valleys, and of snow-capped peaks looking back as the climb leads up through a pristine forest of rhododendron, magnolia, many types of firs and pines trees, including various species of rhododendron plants and flowers with views of Annapurna, Ganesh, and Langtang Himal range towards North West, after a good climb of few hours reaching at a hilltop with grazing pasture and few teahouses around. From here on the gradual winding path into the pleasant and cool shade of forest Shing Gompa is reached, this place is also called Chandanbari(Rose Wood) with a small cheese processing factory and a monastery.

Day 15 : Trek to Dhunche 1,965 m – 05 hrs.

The last day walk of this wonderful trip ends today, starting this morning's walk with a long descent through beautiful rhododendron and pine forest along the walk with fabulous views of surrounding landscapes and mountains, the walk carries on downhill for about three hours, then reaches the bottom nearby the river after crossing the bridge, reaching the motorable road after being in the trekking trail for a week, the good road winds up for an hour all the way to the large town at Dhunche for overnight stop, the last day in the mid hills of high Langtang Himalaya.

Day 16 : Drive back to Kathmandu – 06 hrs journey.

The morning after breakfast, an interesting drive back to Kathmandu the journey continues with great views and scenery of the Himalayan landscapes, rolling hills, and valleys, then passing through numerous villages and towns on the downhill drive to Kathmandu. After an interesting journey of more than six hours reaching Kathmandu, after a great memorable time up in the mountains transfer to respective hotels.

FAQs

Can I climb a Peak?

A fit person with little or no climbing experience can attempt a non-technical climb. Whereas for technical climb, one needs to be fit and trained or have prior experience of climbing peaks. The difficulty of the climb varies for different mountains.

What are the peak climbing trips you provide?

Currently, we provide Island, Mera, and Lobuche Peak Climb.

Do I need to travel Insurance?

Travel insurance is really important for peak climbing. We recommend you get ensured of adequate travel insurance in your respective country. This insurance will help to cover your uncertain medical expenses or helicopter evacuation fees.

What is the best time for mountaineering?

The spring and autumn seasons are the best time for mountaineering activities in Nepal. This includes the August-November and March-May.

Who will be my guide for this adventure?

Experienced, well-trained, licensed Sherpa guides will lead and guide throughout the trek and climb.

Do I need a climbing permit?

You are required to get a permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. They will issue the legal document and then you will be all set for the expedition.

What are the provisions for food and accommodation?

Your accommodation will be in small hotels and tea houses until the base camp. Once your climb commences from the base camp all your climbing gear and food will be carried by the porters. A spacious tent will be assigned to you and Sherpas will feed you warm high-altitude food during the climb.

What should I do about drinking water?

Your major source of drinking water is bottled water. Apart from that, purified filtered, and boiled water is available in the teahouses and lodges.

What are the problems that may arise on the altitude?

The amount of oxygen is low so, many climbers generally have a hard time breathing and are prone to AMS. Apart from that, your skin can get sunburned if you don’t apply sunblock or wear protective clothing.

How much time is required for reaching the summit?

It depends on the peak that you choose and also the condition of the weather. Generally, it requires one or two days to summit the peak. Some other factors such as peak elevation and location might also affect the time to reach the summit.

I have never seen a mountain before. Can I climb it?

There is always a first time for everything and climbing a mountain can be one of the best things to try for the first time. There are various options for non-technical peaks that can be attempted by novice climbers. Our guides will lead you and train you, if necessary, to reach the summit.

How difficult is the mountain expedition?

The uncertain weather and geographic layout of the mountains make the climb difficult. This means some peaks require high technical skills whereas others require no technical skills at all.

What kind of meals will be there?

In teahouses and lodges, you will get a variety of dishes including soups, continental dishes, etc. While on the remote regions, Nepali Dal Bhat and noodle soups are available. And on the base camps and during the summit, a Sherpa guide will prepare dry meals for you.

What is the cost of peak climbing?

The cost solely depends on which peak you wish to climb and also how many fellow climbers you have in your group. The total cost will include your trekking cost, transportation cost, permit cost, and guide cost. For more information contact us.

What kind of boots should I pack?

For a comfortable journey shoes have thick soles will help you a lot. As there are lots of rocky and steep trails, getting a specific trekking shoe would be a wise idea. However, on snow routes, you will need crampons, ice-ax, and another climbing harness.

Is there a facility for communication on the trip?

Most of the popular trails have local VHF Phones but, in remote and isolated regions the communication is limited or not available at all. So, in these cases, a satellite phone is required for communication.

Additional Information

Team Himalaya's list of outdoor equipment requirements is in the following list order depending upon the type of holidays chosen leisure tours, moderate, adventurous to challenging trekking, and climbs. Gear required depends upon the season of travel as well as the grade of travel and trekking as Nepal is for all seasons except the wet months of July to mid-September when few travelers visit Nepal.

As per the booking and Trip money transfer, service charges of respective banks might apply and they should be paid at the time of deposit.

03: Refund & Cancellation:

No refund will be made by the company for the 20% deposit amount in case of cancellation of your trip for any whatsoever or other reasons.

After having paid the full amount of any selected trip, you are entitled to incur a refund in case you want to cancel your trip by informing us earliest as possible to make the charge reasonable as per the company rules and regulations.

Still, the cancellation charge is invoiced to you. Written notification of your cancellation should be made to cancel any trip. Nevertheless, you have imposed a cancellation charge as advised below:-

04: Extra Supplement Charge:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd tour/trek packages, rooms, or tents are provided on twin sharing basis. Thus, a single room supplement charge will be imposed as extra for a client who does not have another tour participant to share a room/tent with. It also applies to clients who need a single supplement in tents/rooms in a hotel or lodge.

05: Early return from any Tours or Treks:

No refund will be entertained to clients on early return from our trips due to personal domestic/medical or personal problems from any other trips regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary.

06: Amendment in Trip Cost:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd. reserves the right to revise or change the trip costing rate posted on our website, under any circumstances, or on the pressure of various external factors beyond our control, for instance, changes in exchange rate, government action, etc. inflation, however assuring that we will put our effort as much possible to keep the present cost rate as it is.

07: Unforeseen Circumstances:

If the company have to cancel the respective trip due to unforeseen circumstances like natural disasters, political conflict, unfavorable climate, broken trail, and roads, etc., we will refer you for an alternative trip of similar types and standard.

Even if this doesn’t suit and fit your likes and interests, all trip prices paid by you to our company will be refunded with some administration and trip arrangement charge of 15 to 20 % depending upon the trip chosen.

Please note, any other expenses incurred by you as a result of this booking are entirely your responsibility.

08:  Travel / Medical Insurance:

We strongly suggest and recommend all booking Clients acquire Travel and Medical Insurance as a compulsion in all our tours and trekking and climbing trips. It should include adequate protection for tour/trekking/climbing/rafting or any other adventure sports with duration to cover personal injury, death, medical expenses, and repatriation or emergency evacuation expenses by any means of transportation such as helicopter rescue, air ambulance and adequate cover for baggage.

09: Health & Fitness:

All our Treks and Tours require sound health and a level of fitness before signing the booking with us, the client should always check with your local Doctor or Physician regarding your health and fitness before the trip departs to Himalayan destinations.

It’s solely the client’s responsibility to inform Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions of any pre-existing medical condition or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your required medical attention, which may affect your capability to travel on the trips booked with us.

Children and Elderly people:

An authorized guardian by the parents must accompany all travelers under the age of sixteen.

A person of more than 70 years of age, although in good health still needs a partner, family member, or friends to accompany him/her.

10: Nepal / Tibet Visas & Passport Conditions:

It is important that all clients should have a valid passport with at least six months of validity from the return date of travel.

Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. The costs of Nepalese visas are the sole responsibility of clients. All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity from the return date. As you are unable to obtain visas to Tibet you need to send your passport details to Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions for visa applications to travel in Tibet, we require this information at least three weeks prior to departure.

11: Risk and Liabilities:

Team Himalaya's main concern is your safety and satisfaction including our staff welfare, therefore we carry out all our assignments sincerely & honestly to ensure your holiday a Hassel hassle-free without any problems.

Nevertheless, unless stated otherwise, the trip may be changed under uncertain and inherent circumstances such as landslides, roadblocks, floods, heavy snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delayed arrival, sickness or accidents, etc. Any extra cost incurred there is your personal responsibility and should be borne on the spot.

Flight Delay/Cancellation:

Possibility of domestic flight delay or postponement due to bad weather in Himalayan regions which happens sometimes, in particular around Everest region Lukla, Phaplu, Annapurna / Mustang / Manang region Humde, Jomsom and on the Far West Dolpa, Simikot and Jumla region and on Far East sector Tumlingtar, and Taplejung area.

Trekking in remote areas or in as described above, especially during the off-season, you are highly advised to reserve extra days to prepare for some delays and avoid frustrating consequences.

In case of flight cancellation pre-tour/post-tour, you need to bear accommodation and food costs yourself.

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions will ensure to make every effort comfortable and satisfactory in all our trips, but one must understand that Himalayan or Third World and Developing Countries like Nepal cannot afford much of Western and highly timed facilities sometimes depending upon the area of travel, however, we will try our best to make your travel enjoyable with memorable time while with us.

Weather is another factor that directly impacts some trips, hence, patience in mind, enthusiasm, and proper preparation before heading is a must.

Your personal belongings:

On any account, we’re not responsible for any loss or damage of your baggage/luggage or property even when it is shouldered by our porters, ponies, or vehicles. Our trip escorts and guides will provide necessary safety precautions so that this does not arise while with us.

Papers & Documents:

All necessary papers and documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visas, necessary permits, etc. We’re not accountable in case of any trip formality not being completed in time before the trip departs in the absence of essential papers and documents.

Team Himalaya trek and climb of awesome Yala Peak climbing in the most picturesque walking journey to picturesque Langtang Valley, a trek and climb for all types of people, as this trip starts with a moderate walk with uphill climb at your own pace leisure pace with rest and acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa with 3,870 meters the highest point of this beautiful Picturesque Langtang Valley.

Starting with an interesting drive North of Kathmandu on the mountain road to Dhunche town at 1,965 meters high the headquarters and main village of Rasuwa district and Langtang / Ganesh Himal region and down to Syabrubesi a nice Tamang country-type village, where Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and climb begins, walking up high hills into pristine forested area of rhododendron, magnolia, pines and oaks tree lines. Around spring, and summer seasons the region will be a natural garden with hills and valleys with colorful wildflowers in bloom, and in this forest where rare Red Panda, Snow Leopard, and other wildlife many species of birds are found.

Langtang area, Nepal’s 3rd popular trekking area after Annapurna and Everest region protected by Langtang National Park the first Park to be established in the Himalayan mountain region in 1976 AD with an area of 1,710 sq. km. The walk continues with views of stunning waterfalls flowing over high mountain rock cliffs, awesome views of the massif mountains of Langtang Lirung at 7,200 m / 23,622 ft, this whole Langtang range surrounded by Nepal’s second largest Langtang National Park, and visiting impressive villages of Tamang and Bhotias with their old religion, culture, tradition, language, custom are similar of Tibetan origin. Tamang villages are famous for their warm hospitality with their fascinating culture, rituals, traditional woodcraft, and customs.

After days of nice walks reaching the beautiful Langtang Valley at Kyanjin Gompa with time here to marvel at the beauty of high snow-capped peaks and then heading towards the isolated area for the climb of awesome Yala peak soaring high at 5,732 m /18, 790ft one of the least technical and straight forward climb to the summit top offering awesome views of Langtang Lirung 7,246 m, Lenpo Gang 7,083m, Dorje Lakpa 6,990 m and massif Mt. Shishapangma 8,027m on Tibetan side.

The climb is done after ample acclimatization and a nice rest with practice in using climbing equipment, although less technical, however, our Team Himalaya expert guide will fix the route with ropes and make ledges on the path where necessary and will support the group all the way to the top summit and descending safely back to base camp after enjoying the overwhelming panorama of all the snow-capped peaks that dominate the Langtang Valley over the crystal blue skyline.

After a glorious moment and feeling high return journey via Shing Gompa another destination of Langtang area on the scenic trail, this marvelous trekking allows you to observe the local and village life as it was for many centuries back, from here this awesome journey completes with a drive back to hustle bustle city life of Kathmandu city after a most enjoyable and fantastic time and climb of Yala Peak climbing with best guidance and excellent service of Team Himalaya.
 

Itinerary Detail

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On reaching Kathmandu via respective airlines, our TH staff will receive with courtesy transfer to hotels in the center of Kathmandu around the Thamel area, an interesting to be with many shops, stores, and excellent world-class restaurants, with time for a short walk and to buy necessary items for the trip, in the hotel our guide will inform and brief regarding trek and climb and other important things.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

The morning after breakfast at a given time our city and cultural guide will guide you in and around Kathmandu at places of interest and importance, as Kathmandu Valley is full of World Heritage Sites the holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath (Little Tibet), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, preparation for the trip to Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and Climb.

Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m – 07 hours.

This fabulous journey starts with an interesting scenic drive leading past Kathmandu Valley North West heading past nice place Kakani and reaching a warm area of Trisuli Bazaar for refreshment and lunch. After a nice rest drive carries on heading high hills on a narrow winding road but with impressive views of surrounding landscapes and of distant peaks of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal, after a few hours of good drive reaching Dunche town 1,965 meters high, the headquarters and main area of Rasuwa and Langtang region and the entrance of Langtang National Park. After a brief stop here, the drive descends on the winding downhill road for a few hours and arrives at Syabrubesi for an overnight stop. This is an interesting Tamang village the door to many Langtang and Ganesh Himal trekking as well towards Tibet's Northern frontier.

Day 4 : Trek to Lama Hotel 2,430m – 06 hours.

The first walk of this adventure with a slow walk towards a bridge over the upper Trisuli or Bhot Kosi River, and then the trail climbs into a steep hillside after an hour of uphill haul and then on a gentle trail for few hours passing many scattered farm houses wheat’s, barley, millet, and corns terraces, then walking around the bend reaching at Riverside where the trail from Thulo or upper Syabru joins near Bamboo with few teahouses and lodges, after a stop here for a while walk continues with a gradual climb into serene forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines tree lines and entering a river gorge following upstream Trisuli River fed from the glacier of Langtang mountain range, and then after a good walk reaching at overnight stop at Lama Hotel a small place situated in the middle of pristine forest with 6-8 small lodges around.

Day 5 : Trek to Langtang village 3,430m – 06 hours.

From Lama Hotel, start the morning walk on the same trail for an hour and then after Riverside place our route diverts walking through a small settlement at Bamboo place with few teahouses and simple lodges surrounded by bamboo thickets, might be the right place to see Red Panda by chance, starts as the place is in cooler area hidden in a river gorge with dense woodland; walk passes few small settlements and farms, then reaching at Ghoretabla a small settlement with Nepal Army stations as Park wardens, this place located in the middle of beautiful forested area with few lodges around. Stopping here for lunch as the altitude gains slowly and the air gets cooler.After lunch walk continues on overnight stopping at Langtang village a nice moderate-sized village with the Tamang and Bhotia tribes of people with similar customs and culture of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 6 : Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,850m – 04 hours.

Today a walk for a few hours as the morning heads with a short climb and towards a wider country as the gorge opens into a nice valley with snow-clad peaks on both sides of the hills encountering few prayer walls and enjoying the views of mountains as the walk progress leading to Kyanjin Gompa area with more than 15 lodges and guest houses to stay with an old cheese factory, where’s the name Gompa is about to disappear which is a small wooden chapel rather than monastery located on top of Kynajin and Langtang Valley on moraine rocks and boulders on route to Lantang Lirung glacier. A great place Kyanjin in the Langtang Valley the first part the highlight of this trip. Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa are surrounded by green hills and snow-capped mountains of Dori Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Tsego ri, Langshsisa, and Naya Kanga or Ganja la Peak.

Day 7 : At Kyanjin Gompa rest and hike.

Rest day at Kyanjin for energetic people a hike up to near hilltop at Tsergo Ri 5,033m. The climb to Tsergo Ri is quite steep and requires good physical fitness, but offers awesome views of the highest mountains of the central Himalayas. Afternoon at leisure to marvel at the great panorama of Chimsedang Lekh, and the Kangjal Himal, a ridge of peaks bordering the valley to the south, Naya Kanga 5,844m. stunning views of the great mountains flanking the Langtang valley, including Ganchenpo 6,387m, Dorje Lakpa 6,990 m, Pemthang Karpo Ri 6,830m, Langtang Lirung 7,245m and across the northern boundary in Tibet rises the huge massive Shishapangma 8,046 m the last 14th world’s highest mountain.

Day 8 : Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp 4,400 m / 14,435 ft – 06 hours.

On leaving Kyanjin Gompa for the highlights of this trip, walking along the rocky glacier and then to a steep climb through the icy trail to reach a flat camping area of Yala Peak base camp at 4,400m. walk to base camp offers outstanding views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Yala Peak, and other peaks till Yala base camp is reached for the first camp of this trip after being in the comfort of a lodge, base camp with a marvelous view of high massif surrounding mountains.

Day 9 : Trek & Climb to Yala Summit 5,732 m / 18,806 ft to base camp.

Starting early before dawn for the big day of this adventure, the walk leads to climb to the summit depending on weather conditions. This peak is less technical but it takes nearly eight hours to reach the summit and back to base camp.
After a strenuous climb to the summit at 5,732 meters and 18,806 feet, reaching the top dream becomes a reality with an overwhelming success, from the top of the summit overlooking the striking panorama that surrounds you with the the world’s highest mountains lies before you. Yala summit offers breathtaking views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung, and many other mountains on the Tibetan side, after enjoyable and magnificent moments on the top descend back to base camp.

Day 10 : Reserve and contingency day in case of bad weather.

We have reserved an extra day which will be a contingency day, in case of unfavorable weather conditions times in this high Himalayan range, the weather can be unpredictable, so an extra day on this type of adventure is very necessary, if all goes well can used on the way back en route Dhunche, adding a short-day walk enjoying the great scenery along the way.

Day 11 : Return to Kyanjin Gompa -05 hrs.

Leaving Naya Khang base camp, trek to Kyanjin Gompa following the icy trail that steeply descends offering marvelous views of massif Himalaya, enjoying the rhododendron forests, and cross the Langtang River gently ascend to reach the village of Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 12 : Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.

After a wonderful time at Kyanjin Gompa in Langtang Valley, we headed back to the forested area and to Lama Hotel for an overnight stop, walking and retracing the same route for about six hours but interesting and enjoyable walks on a downhill path with a few short ups in between.

Day 13 : Trek to Thulo Syabru 2,211m – 05 hrs.

From Lama Hotel our journey continues with nice views along the walk on the downhill path to a place called Bamboo with few teahouses and lodges, after a pleasant morning walk, from here walk through farm terraces of millets, corn, and wheat depending upon the time of the seasons, on leaving the farm area the path leads uphill on the old landslide sections, the on the winding up a hill path to Upper or Thulo Syabru for an overnight stop in of the good lodge around this nice interesting village, where the houses are joined in a long as a locomotive, Thulo Syabru has an old monastery above the village.

Day 14 : Trek to Shing Gompa 3,330m – 05 hours.

After Thulo Syabru today, the walk is short for 4-5 hours with mind-blowing scenery of hills, valleys, and of snow-capped peaks looking back as the climb leads up through a pristine forest of rhododendron, magnolia, many types of firs and pines trees, including various species of rhododendron plants and flowers with views of Annapurna, Ganesh, and Langtang Himal range towards North West, after a good climb of few hours reaching at a hilltop with grazing pasture and few teahouses around. From here on the gradual winding path into the pleasant and cool shade of forest Shing Gompa is reached, this place is also called Chandanbari(Rose Wood) with a small cheese processing factory and a monastery.

Day 15 : Trek to Dhunche 1,965 m – 05 hrs.

The last day walk of this wonderful trip ends today, starting this morning's walk with a long descent through beautiful rhododendron and pine forest along the walk with fabulous views of surrounding landscapes and mountains, the walk carries on downhill for about three hours, then reaches the bottom nearby the river after crossing the bridge, reaching the motorable road after being in the trekking trail for a week, the good road winds up for an hour all the way to the large town at Dhunche for overnight stop, the last day in the mid hills of high Langtang Himalaya.

The morning after breakfast, an interesting drive back to Kathmandu the journey continues with great views and scenery of the Himalayan landscapes, rolling hills, and valleys, then passing through numerous villages and towns on the downhill drive to Kathmandu. FAQs

Can I climb a Peak?

A fit person with little or no climbing experience can attempt a non-technical climb. Whereas for technical climb, one needs to be fit and trained or have prior experience of climbing peaks. The difficulty of the climb varies for different mountains.

What are the peak climbing trips you provide?

Currently, we provide Island, Mera, and Lobuche Peak Climb.

Do I need to travel Insurance?

Travel insurance is really important for peak climbing. We recommend you get ensured of adequate travel insurance in your respective country. This insurance will help to cover your uncertain medical expenses or helicopter evacuation fees.

What is the best time for mountaineering?

The spring and autumn seasons are the best time for mountaineering activities in Nepal. This includes the August-November and March-May.

Who will be my guide for this adventure?

Experienced, well-trained, licensed Sherpa guides will lead and guide throughout the trek and climb.

Do I need a climbing permit?

You are required to get a permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. They will issue the legal document and then you will be all set for the expedition.

What are the provisions for food and accommodation?

Your accommodation will be in small hotels and tea houses until the base camp. Once your climb commences from the base camp all your climbing gear and food will be carried by the porters. A spacious tent will be assigned to you and Sherpas will feed you warm high-altitude food during the climb.

What should I do about drinking water?

Your major source of drinking water is bottled water. Apart from that, purified filtered, and boiled water is available in the teahouses and lodges.

What are the problems that may arise on the altitude?

The amount of oxygen is low so, many climbers generally have a hard time breathing and are prone to AMS. Apart from that, your skin can get sunburned if you don’t apply sunblock or wear protective clothing.

How much time is required for reaching the summit?

It depends on the peak that you choose and also the condition of the weather. Generally, it requires one or two days to summit the peak. Some other factors such as peak elevation and location might also affect the time to reach the summit.

I have never seen a mountain before. Can I climb it?

There is always a first time for everything and climbing a mountain can be one of the best things to try for the first time. There are various options for non-technical peaks that can be attempted by novice climbers. Our guides will lead you and train you, if necessary, to reach the summit.

How difficult is the mountain expedition?

The uncertain weather and geographic layout of the mountains make the climb difficult. This means some peaks require high technical skills whereas others require no technical skills at all.

What kind of meals will be there?

In teahouses and lodges, you will get a variety of dishes including soups, continental dishes, etc. While on the remote regions, Nepali Dal Bhat and noodle soups are available. And on the base camps and during the summit, a Sherpa guide will prepare dry meals for you.

What is the cost of peak climbing?

The cost solely depends on which peak you wish to climb and also how many fellow climbers you have in your group. The total cost will include your trekking cost, transportation cost, permit cost, and guide cost. For more information contact us.

What kind of boots should I pack?

For a comfortable journey shoes have thick soles will help you a lot. As there are lots of rocky and steep trails, getting a specific trekking shoe would be a wise idea. However, on snow routes, you will need crampons, ice-ax, and another climbing harness.

Is there a facility for communication on the trip?

Most of the popular trails have local VHF Phones but, in remote and isolated regions the communication is limited or not available at all. So, in these cases, a satellite phone is required for communication.

Additional Information

Team Himalaya's list of outdoor equipment requirements is in the following list order depending upon the type of holidays chosen leisure tours, moderate, adventurous to challenging trekking, and climbs. Gear required depends upon the season of travel as well as the grade of travel and trekking as Nepal is for all seasons except the wet months of July to mid-September when few travelers visit Nepal.

For Simple Sightseeing Tours in Kathmandu and beyond:

Running /sports shoes or comfortable shoes for short walks, for elderly people walking poles, personal medication, binoculars as an option, T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, trousers (while entering temples and monasteries) sunscreens.

Sun Hats, Sunglasses, for long drives soft inflatable cushion/pillow is advisable options, and rainproof or umbrella.

For Moderate Hikes and Treks:
Personal Toiletries, a moderate size daypack to carry your personal belongings that as water bottles, cameras, wallets, maps, journey/notebooks, cell phones, light jackets or fleece and insect repellent as per the season.

Running/sports shoes, for elderly people walking poles, personal medication, binoculars an option, T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, trousers (while entering temples and monasteries) sunscreens, and torch/flashlights.

Sun Hats, Sunglasses, and water bottles are necessary (try to avoid plastic bottled water as they make litter which is hard to recycle in Nepal) use the same waterfalls to refill your bottle where available, rainproof or umbrella. Scarf or mask to avoid dust and smoke.

For long Trekking for a week or more above 3,000 meters:
Personal Toiletries, a moderate-size day pack or rucksack to carry your personal belongings that as travel documents, water bottles, cameras, wallets, maps, journey/notebooks, cell phones, light jackets, or fleece insect repellent as per the season.

Running/sports shoes, good pair of boots, warm woolen/cotton socks, snow gaiters, rain/windproof gear, walking poles an option, personal medication, binoculars an option, T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, trousers (while entering temples and monasteries) sunscreens, torch/flashlights.

Gloves, Woolen Beni (camp) Sun Hats, Sun/snow glasses, and water bottles are necessary (try to avoid plastic bottled water as they make litter which is hard to recycle in Nepal) use the same waterfalls for refills where available. Scarf or mask to avoid dust and smoke.

The following items can be bought or hired in Kathmandu, the above list is standard items required in all climbs, however on booking, we will inform you with more details on equipment required depending upon the type of various peaks of your choice, ropes, jumar, ice screw are also needed in most of the climb.

After selecting the trip of your choice from our varied programs and itineraries, the first step in the booking procedure you are requested to fill out our booking form and send it after completion with 20 % as a non-refundable deposit for the entire Nepal Trip.

Along with the completed form, you are required to e-mail your passport copy and flight Ticket with all details to us in the Kathmandu office at Team Himalaya (info@teamhimalaya.com).

Upon receiving your passport copy and details with the completed booking form Plus your non-refundable deposit, we will proceed and send you a final affirmation receipt with acknowledgment.

All deposits are required for selected and chosen trips on per per-person basis, we will inform you by e-mail regarding the direct deposit procedure and details.

As per the booking and Trip money transfer, service charges of respective banks might apply and they should be paid at the time of deposit.

We will e-mail you the details on making payments through your credit card once you have filled up the Booking form.

We accept Visa or MasterCard only with a 4% surcharge added as a processing fee on credit cards and wire Transfers as a service charged by the Banks.

The Condition for clearing the remaining balance as per the trip booked is as follows:

The remaining due balance for all Nepal Trips should be paid and cleared upon arrival.

The remaining balance for other Himalayan countries like Bhutan, and Tibet, and all multi-country tours needs to be cleared within 35 days prior to your trip departure dates.

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd reserves the right to cancel your trip if the full amount is not paid on time.

In certain circumstances, we will accept your last-hour booking a minimum of a week prior to the tour departure date for all the trips, in this case, full payment is required.

03: Refund & Cancellation:

No refund will be made by the company for the 20% deposit amount in case of cancellation of your trip for any whatsoever or other reasons.

After having paid the full amount of any selected trip, you are entitled to incur a refund in case you want to cancel your trip by informing us earliest as possible to make the charge reasonable as per the company rules and regulations.

Still, the cancellation charge is invoiced to you. Written notification of your cancellation should be made to cancel any trip. Nevertheless, you have imposed a cancellation charge as advised below:-

60 days or more deposit retained
45 – 50 days before departure 50%
30 – 40 days before departure 75%
20 days before departure 100%

04: Extra Supplement Charge:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd tour/trek packages, rooms, or tents are provided on twin sharing basis. Thus, a single room supplement charge will be imposed as extra for a client who does not have another tour participant to share a room/tent with. It also applies to clients who need a single supplement in tents/rooms in a hotel or lodge.

05: Early return from any Tours or Treks:

No refund will be entertained to clients on early return from our trips due to personal domestic/medical or personal problems from any other trips regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary.

06: Amendment in Trip Cost:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd. reserves the right to revise or change the trip costing rate posted on our website, under any circumstances, or on the pressure of various external factors beyond our control, for instance, changes in exchange rate, government action, etc. inflation, however assuring that we will put our effort as much possible to keep the present cost rate as it is.

07: Unforeseen Circumstances:

If the company have to cancel the respective trip due to unforeseen circumstances like natural disasters, political conflict, unfavorable climate, broken trail, and roads, etc., we will refer you for an alternative trip of similar types and standard.

Even if this doesn’t suit and fit your likes and interests, all trip prices paid by you to our company will be refunded with some administration and trip arrangement charge of 15 to 20 % depending upon the trip chosen.

Please note, any other expenses incurred by you as a result of this booking are entirely your responsibility.

08:  Travel / Medical Insurance:

We strongly suggest and recommend all booking Clients acquire Travel and Medical Insurance as a compulsion in all our tours and trekking and climbing trips. It should include adequate protection for tour/trekking/climbing/rafting or any other adventure sports with duration to cover personal injury, death, medical expenses, and repatriation or emergency evacuation expenses by any means of transportation such as helicopter rescue, air ambulance and adequate cover for baggage.

09: Health & Fitness:

All our Treks and Tours require sound health and a level of fitness before signing the booking with us, the client should always check with your local Doctor or Physician regarding your health and fitness before the trip departs to Himalayan destinations.

It’s solely the client’s responsibility to inform Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions of any pre-existing medical condition or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your required medical attention, which may affect your capability to travel on the trips booked with us.

Children and Elderly people:

An authorized guardian by the parents must accompany all travelers under the age of sixteen.

A person of more than 70 years of age, although in good health still needs a partner, family member, or friends to accompany him/her.

10: Nepal / Tibet Visas & Passport Conditions:

It is important that all clients should have a valid passport with at least six months of validity from the return date of travel.

Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. The costs of Nepalese visas are the sole responsibility of clients. All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity from the return date. As you are unable to obtain visas to Tibet you need to send your passport details to Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions for visa applications to travel in Tibet, we require this information at least three weeks prior to departure.

11: Risk and Liabilities:

Team Himalaya's main concern is your safety and satisfaction including our staff welfare, therefore we carry out all our assignments sincerely & honestly to ensure your holiday a Hassel hassle-free without any problems.

Nevertheless, unless stated otherwise, the trip may be changed under uncertain and inherent circumstances such as landslides, roadblocks, floods, heavy snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delayed arrival, sickness or accidents, etc. Any extra cost incurred there is your personal responsibility and should be borne on the spot.

Flight Delay/Cancellation:

Possibility of domestic flight delay or postponement due to bad weather in Himalayan regions which happens sometimes, in particular around Everest region Lukla, Phaplu, Annapurna / Mustang / Manang region Humde, Jomsom and on the Far West Dolpa, Simikot and Jumla region and on Far East sector Tumlingtar, and Taplejung area.

Trekking in remote areas or in as described above, especially during the off-season, you are highly advised to reserve extra days to prepare for some delays and avoid frustrating consequences.

In case of flight cancellation pre-tour/post-tour, you need to bear accommodation and food costs yourself.

12: Our Responsible Adventure Policy:

Our entire tour/trekking guide representing Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions deserves all authority during tours and trekking/rafting or on climbs.

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions will ensure to make every effort comfortable and satisfactory in all our trips, but one must understand that Himalayan or Third World and Developing Countries like Nepal cannot afford much of Western and highly timed facilities sometimes depending upon the area of travel, however, we will try our best to make your travel enjoyable with memorable time while with us.

Weather is another factor that directly impacts some trips, hence, patience in mind, enthusiasm, and proper preparation before heading is a must.

Your personal belongings:

On any account, we’re not responsible for any loss or damage of your baggage/luggage or property even when it is shouldered by our porters, ponies, or vehicles. Our trip escorts and guides will provide necessary safety precautions so that this does not arise while with us.

Papers & Documents:

All necessary papers and documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visas, necessary permits, etc. We’re not accountable in case of any trip formality not being completed in time before the trip departs in the absence of essential papers and documents.
