The Tibet Overland and Everest Base Camp tour commences with a spectacular flight across the Himalayas to Lhasa from Kathmandu. Lhasa is one of the prime identities of Tibet. We explore significant heritage sites, holy monasteries, and traditional markets. These sites include Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Bharkhor market, and Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Potala Palace and Jhokhang Temple are magnificent pieces of art and architecture representing ancient civilization and history. Bharkhor market is a Tibetan traditional market where we happen to have insight into Tibetan identities through different arts offered to the gods. Drepung and Sera monasteries are the center of Buddhist culture and history.

The tour now shifts with a jeep drive from Lhasa to Tashilumpo at Shigatse. Tashilumpo is an ancient monastery with an excellent form of ancient art and architecture. Then, we go to visit Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse and explore it. We also drive via alluring turquoise lakes.

At the same time, we enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery and now we get to Rongbuk monastery. After we explore this monastery, we ultimately get Everest Base Camp Trek. Stepping at Everest Base Camp is memorable. Here, one can enjoy magnificent mountain views dominating the skyline. Then, we cross the Tibet-Nepal border and drive to Kathmandu still enjoying the country setting and landscape. The terraced landscapes and arid setting of the route will be an excellent experience for the tourists.

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu received by Team Himalaya staff.

On arrival meet our TH staff for a courtesy transfer to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu at the Thamel area, an interesting place for shopping and having meals in one of the many world-class restaurants, pubs, and bakeries.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

Morning after breakfast at a given time our city and cultural guide will guide you in and around Kathmandu at places of interest and importance, as Kathmandu Valley is full of World Heritage Sites the holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath (Little Tibet), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, preparation for the trip to Tibet Overland & Everest Base Camp.

Day 3 : Fly to Lhasa 3,650 m and transfer to hotel.

Morning an hour scenic flight over the high Himalayan range with views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Makalu, on arrival at Gongor airport near Lhasa our Tibetan guide will receive then transfer to Lhasa with another hour of good drive, recently the road has been improved with tunnels to shorten the distance to Lhasa, on reaching in Lhasa transfer into best available hotels in old section of Lhasa where the traditions and culture still exists as it was for centuries back, afternoon visit the Barkhor Market near the Jorkhang Temple premises the centre of Lhasa.

Day 4-5 : In Lhasa with sightseeing at places of interest.

Lhasa is at 3,600m/12,000ft and provides an ideal acclimation for the first few days, tour starts from morning till late afternoon with a lunch break near or around the hotel premises, the guided tour with our expert Tibetan in Lhasa here you will be engrossed for two days with sightseeing and excursions of the Potala Palace, Norbulingkha Summer Palace, Sera, and Drepung Monastery. Tour the fabled City of Lhasa.

A completely forbidden city until present times, Lhasa was a holy grail for many central Asian explorers in the past centuries, the Lhasa city has been changed and altered by the Chinese occupation and the impact of foreign visitors, however much of the original character remains and whilst jostling through the Potala with crowds of ethnic Tibetans, it is hard not to be captivated by this magnificent culture, religion, and traditions.

Visit the great monasteries of Sera and Drepung, both of which were extensively destroyed in the Cultural Revolution but are now being rebuilt, visit the Jokhang and the Potala Palace.

Day 6 : Drive to Gyantse 3,950 m – 05 hrs.

Starting early this morning for the beautiful scenic drive to Gyantse town, the drive leads near Gongar airport, just after the bridge over the Yarlung Tsangpa River (Brahmaputra River) our route leads southeast branching off from Gongar. Then the drive slowly climbs to Khamba-la at 4,800 meters with awesome views of surrounding landscapes and of the snow-capped peaks and with beautiful emerald Yamdrok Tsho the Turquoise Lake, after a nice break, the drive continues by the Yamdrok Tsho, and through Ngartse town and then to Karo-la at 5,050 meter pass.

This area is situated in a narrow mountain gorge with amazing views of ice falls and the glacier of Mt. Nzongkhangsa at 7,206 meters, after an awesome moment here drive continues for another three hours to Gyantse for the overnight stop. Gyantse town, almost a city which was until recently the third largest settlement in Tibet, in Gyantse, visit the Kumbum stupa built in the early 15th century which contains thousands of frescoes.

In Gyantse after the Kumbum monastery visit the market as time permits in this high altitude.

Day 7 : Drive to Shigatse 3,900m – 03 hrs

The morning drive continues towards Shigatse the second largest city in Tibet after Lhasa, the drive covers about 95 km. m. The road has recently been improved from the bumpy and rutted portion. On leaving Gyantse's journey begins on a long straight road, with no hills to climb. The road follows the Nyang Chu River passing through many scattered farm villages and fields and finally approaching Shigatse.

In Shigatse visit the very large complex of Tashilumpo monastery. This is the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama and contains a 27m high gold plated Buddha known as Matria (the future Buddha), afternoon visit the local interesting market.

Day 8 : Drive to Shegar or New Tingri 4,350m – 05 hrs.

After a wonderful time at Shigtse, today’s drive on the highest point of this adventure over Gyatso-la pass at 5,220 meters, the drive leads on the main Kathmandu / Lhasa Friendship highway, at first the drive leads to two high passes, one at 4,500 m and one 5,220 m. Driving through the town of Larze where the road to Mt.Kailash joins, after Larze the drive climbs to the highest pass at Gyatso – la. From here on a downhill slope reaching Shegar or with a new name New Tingri, the main old Shegar town is further south from the main friendship highway, but most of the hotels and inns are located on the main highway. This place is also the gateway to Everest Base Camp and Kharte (Makalu region).

Day 9 : Drive to Rongbuk Monastery & Everest Base Camp.

From Shegar our route leads off from the main Nepal / China Friendship highway, on leaving Shegar drive through farmlands, villages, and small towns after a few hours of good driving coming to a junction that leads towards Rongbuk Monastery and Kharte from here another two hours of drive brings at Rongbuk Monastery for the overnight stop, with fabulous North Face views of Mt. Everest which is stunning from this spot.

Depending upon the time, one can reach Everest Base Camp on a horse cart within half an hour, as the motor car is not allowed within this limit, except for elderly people and kids.

Day 10 : Visit Rongbuk Monastery & Everest Base Camp 5,200m.

Here at Rongbuk Gompa many hermitage retreats were introduced to the world in the 1920’s through the account of the 1st British expedition’s teams of George and Irving Mallaory and from the well-known novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton. At present, most of the retreat cells are abandoned and only a few small monasteries scattered at this end of the valley are in function. According to the Rimpoche of this area, the monastery was first established as a religious site around 250 to 350 years ago.

Morning options for a short walk of fewer than 2 hours or one can take a horsecart ride or motorbike taxi, from here through several isolated and ruined monuments, then descending to the main road after 30 minutes walks to a fresh running stream(the local pilgrims considers as holy water), after being on the main track the road continues on this easy wide trail coming to the ruins of Sherab Chholing, above the road from the Stupa with piles of prayers stones, with time for a visit in this old hermitage caves on route to Everest Base Camp. Continue for another hour on the gravel, rocky trail towards Everest Base Camp, at Base Camp with majestic views of the North Face of Everest with Rongbuk glacier. After a great time here return to Rongbuk for an overnight stop.

Day 11 : Drive to Zhangmu 2330 m – 06 hrs.

After a memorable and wonderful time here at Rongbuk monastery our drive continues back to join the main highway at Old Tingri, on this windswept landscapes, morning drive to Old Tingri the old trekking route to Everest Base Camp and Cho–Oyu area. After the town of Old Tingri drive reaches the last high pass at Laylung-la 5,050 meters offering fascinating scenery of the high mountains of Mt. Shsipangma, Guarishankar, Dorji Lakpa, and a series of other peaks that border with Nepal, from here on get low altitude reaching at Nylam town, after a brief stop here, brings you back to the tree lines and lush vegetation, on leaving the high Tibetan plateau behind at Nylam. The road follows the Bhote Kosi for a while through the beautiful forest of rhododendron and pines trees, the road winds down to reach Zhangmu also known by the Nepali name Khasa, the Tibetans call Dramu, a mixture of people from China, Tibetans, and Nepali with full of shops and stores and restaurants, here check into best available hotels.

Day 12 : Drive back to Kathmandu -05 hrs.

Morning at 9 a.m. as Beijing Standard Time which is 2 hrs 15 minutes ahead of Nepali Standard Time, morning through immigration and customs formalities at Zhangmu border post, then continue with a short drive to the Friendship Bridge.

From here a few minutes’ walk reaches to Nepal Border at Kodari the frontier post, at Kodari with immigration formalities then a nice pleasant drive brings you back to Kathmandu after almost five hours of scenic drive.

Day 13 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

After selecting the trip of your choice from our varied programs and itineraries, the first step in the booking procedure you are requested to fill out our booking form and send it after completion with 20 % as a non-refundable deposit for the entire Nepal Trip.

Along with the completed form, you are required to e-mail your passport copy and flight Ticket with all details to us in the Kathmandu office at Team Himalaya (info@teamhimalaya.com).

Upon receiving your passport copy and details with the completed booking form Plus your non-refundable deposit, we will proceed and send you a final affirmation receipt with acknowledgment.

All deposits are required for selected and chosen trips on per per-person basis, we will inform you by e-mail regarding the direct deposit procedure and details.

As per the booking and Trip money transfer, service charges of respective banks might apply and they should be paid at the time of deposit.

We will e-mail you the details on making payments through your credit card once you have filled up the Booking form.

We accept Visa or MasterCard only with a 4% surcharge added as a processing fee on credit cards and wire Transfers as a service charged by the Banks.

The Condition for clearing the remaining balance as per the trip booked is as follows:

The remaining due balance for all Nepal Trips should be paid and cleared upon arrival.

The remaining balance for other Himalayan countries like Bhutan, and Tibet, and all multi-country tours needs to be cleared within 35 days prior to your trip departure dates.

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd reserves the right to cancel your trip if the full amount is not paid on time.

In certain circumstances, we will accept your last-hour booking a minimum of a week prior to the tour departure date for all the trips, in this case, full payment is required.

03: Refund & Cancellation:

No refund will be made by the company for the 20% deposit amount in case of cancellation of your trip for any whatsoever or other reasons.

After having paid the full amount of any selected trip, you are entitled to incur a refund in case you want to cancel your trip by informing us earliest as possible to make the charge reasonable as per the company rules and regulations.

Still, the cancellation charge is invoiced to you. Written notification of your cancellation should be made to cancel any trip. Nevertheless, you have imposed a cancellation charge as advised below:-

30 – 40 days before departure 75%
20 days before departure 100%

04: Extra Supplement Charge:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd tour/trek packages, rooms, or tents are provided on twin sharing basis. Thus, a single room supplement charge will be imposed as extra for a client who does not have another tour participant to share a room/tent with. It also applies to clients who need a single supplement in tents/rooms in a hotel or lodge.

05: Early return from any Tours or Treks:

No refund will be entertained to clients on early return from our trips due to personal domestic/medical or personal problems from any other trips regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary.

06: Amendment in Trip Cost:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd. reserves the right to revise or change the trip costing rate posted on our website, under any circumstances, or on the pressure of various external factors beyond our control, for instance, changes in exchange rate, government action, etc. inflation, however assuring that we will put our effort as much possible to keep the present cost rate as it is.

07: Unforeseen Circumstances:

If the company have to cancel the respective trip due to unforeseen circumstances like natural disasters, political conflict, unfavorable climate, broken trail, and roads, etc., we will refer you for an alternative trip of similar types and standard.

Even if this doesn’t suit and fit your likes and interests, all trip prices paid by you to our company will be refunded with some administration and trip arrangement charge of 15 to 20 % depending upon the trip chosen.

Please note, any other expenses incurred by you as a result of this booking are entirely your responsibility.

08:  Travel / Medical Insurance:

We strongly suggest and recommend all booking Clients acquire Travel and Medical Insurance as a compulsion in all our tours and trekking and climbing trips. It should include adequate protection for tour/trekking/climbing/rafting or any other adventure sports with duration to cover personal injury, death, medical expenses, and repatriation or emergency evacuation expenses by any means of transportation such as helicopter rescue, air ambulance and adequate cover for baggage.

09: Health & Fitness:

All our Treks and Tours require sound health and a level of fitness before signing the booking with us, the client should always check with your local Doctor or Physician regarding your health and fitness before the trip departs to Himalayan destinations.

It’s solely the client’s responsibility to inform Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions of any pre-existing medical condition or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your required medical attention, which may affect your capability to travel on the trips booked with us.

Children and Elderly people:

An authorized guardian by the parents must accompany all travelers under the age of sixteen.

A person of more than 70 years of age, although in good health still needs a partner, family member, or friends to accompany him/her.

10: Nepal / Tibet Visas & Passport Conditions:

It is important that all clients should have a valid passport with at least six months of validity from the return date of travel.

Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. The costs of Nepalese visas are the sole responsibility of clients. All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity from the return date. As you are unable to obtain visas to Tibet you need to send your passport details to Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions for visa applications to travel in Tibet, we require this information at least three weeks prior to departure.

11: Risk and Liabilities:

Team Himalaya's main concern is your safety and satisfaction including our staff welfare, therefore we carry out all our assignments sincerely & honestly to ensure your holiday a Hassel hassle-free without any problems.

Nevertheless, unless stated otherwise, the trip may be changed under uncertain and inherent circumstances such as landslides, roadblocks, floods, heavy snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delayed arrival, sickness or accidents, etc. Any extra cost incurred there is your personal responsibility and should be borne on the spot.

Flight Delay/Cancellation:

Possibility of domestic flight delay or postponement due to bad weather in Himalayan regions which happens sometimes, in particular around Everest region Lukla, Phaplu, Annapurna / Mustang / Manang region Humde, Jomsom and on the Far West Dolpa, Simikot and Jumla region and on Far East sector Tumlingtar, and Taplejung area.

Trekking in remote areas or in as described above, especially during the off-season, you are highly advised to reserve extra days to prepare for some delays and avoid frustrating consequences.

In case of flight cancellation pre-tour/post-tour, you need to bear accommodation and food costs yourself.

12: Our Responsible Adventure Policy:

Our entire tour/trekking guide representing Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions deserves all authority during tours and trekking/rafting or on climbs.

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions will ensure to make every effort comfortable and satisfactory in all our trips, but one must understand that Himalayan or Third World and Developing Countries like Nepal cannot afford much of Western and highly timed facilities sometimes depending upon the area of travel, however, we will try our best to make your travel enjoyable with memorable time while with us.

Weather is another factor that directly impacts some trips, hence, patience in mind, enthusiasm, and proper preparation before heading is a must.

Your personal belongings:

On any account, we’re not responsible for any loss or damage of your baggage/luggage or property even when it is shouldered by our porters, ponies, or vehicles. Our trip escorts and guides will provide necessary safety precautions so that this does not arise while with us.

Papers & Documents:

All necessary papers and documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visas, necessary permits, etc. We’re not accountable in case of any trip formality not being completed in time before the trip departs in the absence of essential papers and documents.

The Tibet Overland and Everest Base Camp tour commences with a spectacular flight across the Himalayas to Lhasa from Kathmandu. Lhasa is one of the prime identities of Tibet. We explore significant heritage sites, holy monasteries, and traditional markets. These sites include Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Bharkhor market, and Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Potala Palace and Jhokhang Temple are magnificent pieces of art and architecture representing ancient civilization and history. Bharkhor market is a Tibetan traditional market where we happen to have insight into Tibetan identities through different arts offered to the gods. Drepung and Sera monasteries are the center of Buddhist culture and history.

The tour now shifts with a jeep drive from Lhasa to Tashilumpo at Shigatse. Tashilumpo is an ancient monastery with an excellent form of ancient art and architecture. Then, we go to visit Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse and explore it. We also drive via alluring turquoise lakes.

At the same time, we enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery and now we get to Rongbuk monastery. After we explore this monastery, we ultimately get Everest Base Camp Trek. Stepping at Everest Base Camp is memorable. Here, one can enjoy magnificent mountain views dominating the skyline. Then, we cross the Tibet-Nepal border and drive to Kathmandu still enjoying the country setting and landscape. The terraced landscapes and arid setting of the route will be an excellent experience for the tourists.
 

Itinerary Detail

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu received by Team Himalaya staff.

On arrival meet our TH staff for a courtesy transfer to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu at the Thamel area, an interesting place for shopping and having meals in one of the many world-class restaurants, pubs, and bakeries.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

Morning after breakfast at a given time our city and cultural guide will guide you in and around Kathmandu at places of interest and importance, as Kathmandu Valley is full of World Heritage Sites the holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath (Little Tibet), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, preparation for the trip to Tibet Overland & Everest Base Camp.

Day 3 : Fly to Lhasa 3,650 m and transfer to hotel.

Morning an hour scenic flight over the high Himalayan range with views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Makalu, on arrival at Gongor airport near Lhasa our Tibetan guide will receive then transfer to Lhasa with another hour of good drive, recently the road has been improved with tunnels to shorten the distance to Lhasa, on reaching in Lhasa transfer into best available hotels in old section of Lhasa where the traditions and culture still exists as it was for centuries back, afternoon visit the Barkhor Market near the Jorkhang Temple premises the centre of Lhasa.

Day 4-5 : In Lhasa with sightseeing at places of interest.

Lhasa is at 3,600m/12,000ft and provides an ideal acclimation for the first few days, tour starts from morning till late afternoon with a lunch break near or around the hotel premises, the guided tour with our expert Tibetan in Lhasa here you will be engrossed for two days with sightseeing and excursions of the Potala Palace, Norbulingkha Summer Palace, Sera, and Drepung Monastery. Tour the fabled City of Lhasa.

A completely forbidden city until present times, Lhasa was a holy grail for many central Asian explorers in the past centuries, the Lhasa city has been changed and altered by the Chinese occupation and the impact of foreign visitors, however much of the original character remains and whilst jostling through the Potala with crowds of ethnic Tibetans, it is hard not to be captivated by this magnificent culture, religion, and traditions.

Visit the great monasteries of Sera and Drepung, both of which were extensively destroyed in the Cultural Revolution but are now being rebuilt, visit the Jokhang and the Potala Palace.

Day 6 : Drive to Gyantse 3,950 m – 05 hrs.

Starting early this morning for the beautiful scenic drive to Gyantse town, the drive leads near Gongar airport, just after the bridge over the Yarlung Tsangpa River (Brahmaputra River) our route leads southeast branching off from Gongar. Then the drive slowly climbs to Khamba-la at 4,800 meters with awesome views of surrounding landscapes and of the snow-capped peaks and with beautiful emerald Yamdrok Tsho the Turquoise Lake, after a nice break, the drive continues by the Yamdrok Tsho, and through Ngartse town and then to Karo-la at 5,050 meter pass.

This area is situated in a narrow mountain gorge with amazing views of ice falls and the glacier of Mt. Nzongkhangsa at 7,206 meters, after an awesome moment here drive continues for another three hours to Gyantse for the overnight stop. Gyantse town, almost a city which was until recently the third largest settlement in Tibet, in Gyantse, visit the Kumbum stupa built in the early 15th century which contains thousands of frescoes.

In Gyantse after the Kumbum monastery visit the market as time permits in this high altitude.

Day 7 : Drive to Shigatse 3,900m – 03 hrs

The morning drive continues towards Shigatse the second largest city in Tibet after Lhasa, the drive covers about 95 km. m. The road has recently been improved from the bumpy and rutted portion. On leaving Gyantse's journey begins on a long straight road, with no hills to climb. The road follows the Nyang Chu River passing through many scattered farm villages and fields and finally approaching Shigatse.

In Shigatse visit the very large complex of Tashilumpo monastery. This is the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama and contains a 27m high gold plated Buddha known as Matria (the future Buddha), afternoon visit the local interesting market.

Day 8 : Drive to Shegar or New Tingri 4,350m – 05 hrs.

After a wonderful time at Shigtse, today’s drive on the highest point of this adventure over Gyatso-la pass at 5,220 meters, the drive leads on the main Kathmandu / Lhasa Friendship highway, at first the drive leads to two high passes, one at 4,500 m and one 5,220 m. Driving through the town of Larze where the road to Mt.Kailash joins, after Larze the drive climbs to the highest pass at Gyatso – la. From here on a downhill slope reaching Shegar or with a new name New Tingri, the main old Shegar town is further south from the main friendship highway, but most of the hotels and inns are located on the main highway. This place is also the gateway to Everest Base Camp and Kharte (Makalu region).

Day 9 : Drive to Rongbuk Monastery & Everest Base Camp.

From Shegar our route leads off from the main Nepal / China Friendship highway, on leaving Shegar drive through farmlands, villages, and small towns after a few hours of good driving coming to a junction that leads towards Rongbuk Monastery and Kharte from here another two hours of drive brings at Rongbuk Monastery for the overnight stop, with fabulous North Face views of Mt. Everest which is stunning from this spot.

Depending upon the time, one can reach Everest Base Camp on a horse cart within half an hour, as the motor car is not allowed within this limit, except for elderly people and kids.

Day 10 : Visit Rongbuk Monastery & Everest Base Camp 5,200m.

Here at Rongbuk Gompa many hermitage retreats were introduced to the world in the 1920’s through the account of the 1st British expedition’s teams of George and Irving Mallaory and from the well-known novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton. At present, most of the retreat cells are abandoned and only a few small monasteries scattered at this end of the valley are in function. According to the Rimpoche of this area, the monastery was first established as a religious site around 250 to 350 years ago.

Morning options for a short walk of fewer than 2 hours or one can take a horsecart ride or motorbike taxi, from here through several isolated and ruined monuments, then descending to the main road after 30 minutes walks to a fresh running stream(the local pilgrims considers as holy water), after being on the main track the road continues on this easy wide trail coming to the ruins of Sherab Chholing, above the road from the Stupa with piles of prayers stones, with time for a visit in this old hermitage caves on route to Everest Base Camp. Continue for another hour on the gravel, rocky trail towards Everest Base Camp, at Base Camp with majestic views of the North Face of Everest with Rongbuk glacier. After a great time here return to Rongbuk for an overnight stop.

Day 11 : Drive to Zhangmu 2330 m – 06 hrs.

After a memorable and wonderful time here at Rongbuk monastery our drive continues back to join the main highway at Old Tingri, on this windswept landscapes, morning drive to Old Tingri the old trekking route to Everest Base Camp and Cho–Oyu area. After the town of Old Tingri drive reaches the last high pass at Laylung-la 5,050 meters offering fascinating scenery of the high mountains of Mt. Shsipangma, Guarishankar, Dorji Lakpa, and a series of other peaks that border with Nepal, from here on get low altitude reaching at Nylam town, after a brief stop here, brings you back to the tree lines and lush vegetation, on leaving the high Tibetan plateau behind at Nylam. The road follows the Bhote Kosi for a while through the beautiful forest of rhododendron and pines trees, the road winds down to reach Zhangmu also known by the Nepali name Khasa, the Tibetans call Dramu, a mixture of people from China, Tibetans, and Nepali with full of shops and stores and restaurants, here check into best available hotels.

Day 12 : Drive back to Kathmandu -05 hrs.

Morning at 9 a.m. as Beijing Standard Time which is 2 hrs 15 minutes ahead of Nepali Standard Time, morning through immigration and customs formalities at Zhangmu border post, then continue with a short drive to the Friendship Bridge.

From here a few minutes’ walk reaches to Nepal Border at Kodari the frontier post, at Kodari with immigration formalities then a nice pleasant drive brings you back to Kathmandu after almost five hours of scenic drive.

Upon receiving your passport copy and details with the completed booking form Plus your non-refundable deposit, we will proceed and send you a final affirmation receipt with acknowledgment.

All deposits are required for selected and chosen trips on per per-person basis, we will inform you by e-mail regarding the direct deposit procedure and details.

As per the booking and Trip money transfer, service charges of respective banks might apply and they should be paid at the time of deposit.

We will e-mail you the details on making payments through your credit card once you have filled up the Booking form.

We accept Visa or MasterCard only with a 4% surcharge added as a processing fee on credit cards and wire Transfers as a service charged by the Banks.

The Condition for clearing the remaining balance as per the trip booked is as follows:

The remaining due balance for all Nepal Trips should be paid and cleared upon arrival.

The remaining balance for other Himalayan countries like Bhutan, and Tibet, and all multi-country tours needs to be cleared within 35 days prior to your trip departure dates.

03: Refund & Cancellation:

No refund will be made by the company for the 20% deposit amount in case of cancellation of your trip for any whatsoever or other reasons.

After having paid the full amount of any selected trip, you are entitled to incur a refund in case you want to cancel your trip by informing us earliest as possible to make the charge reasonable as per the company rules and regulations.

Still, the cancellation charge is invoiced to you. Written notification of your cancellation should be made to cancel any trip. Nevertheless, you have imposed a cancellation charge as advised below:-

04: Extra Supplement Charge:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd tour/trek packages, rooms, or tents are provided on twin sharing basis. Thus, a single room supplement charge will be imposed as extra for a client who does not have another tour participant to share a room/tent with. It also applies to clients who need a single supplement in tents/rooms in a hotel or lodge.

05: Early return from any Tours or Treks:

No refund will be entertained to clients on early return from our trips due to personal domestic/medical or personal problems from any other trips regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary.

06: Amendment in Trip Cost:

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions (P) Ltd. reserves the right to revise or change the trip costing rate posted on our website, under any circumstances, or on the pressure of various external factors beyond our control, for instance, changes in exchange rate, government action, etc. inflation, however assuring that we will put our effort as much possible to keep the present cost rate as it is.

07: Unforeseen Circumstances:

If the company have to cancel the respective trip due to unforeseen circumstances like natural disasters, political conflict, unfavorable climate, broken trail, and roads, etc., we will refer you for an alternative trip of similar types and standard.

Even if this doesn’t suit and fit your likes and interests, all trip prices paid by you to our company will be refunded with some administration and trip arrangement charge of 15 to 20 % depending upon the trip chosen.

Please note, any other expenses incurred by you as a result of this booking are entirely your responsibility.

08:  Travel / Medical Insurance:

We strongly suggest and recommend all booking Clients acquire Travel and Medical Insurance as a compulsion in all our tours and trekking and climbing trips. It should include adequate protection for tour/trekking/climbing/rafting or any other adventure sports with duration to cover personal injury, death, medical expenses, and repatriation or emergency evacuation expenses by any means of transportation such as helicopter rescue, air ambulance and adequate cover for baggage.

09: Health & Fitness:

All our Treks and Tours require sound health and a level of fitness before signing the booking with us, the client should always check with your local Doctor or Physician regarding your health and fitness before the trip departs to Himalayan destinations.

It’s solely the client’s responsibility to inform Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions of any pre-existing medical condition or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your required medical attention, which may affect your capability to travel on the trips booked with us.

Children and Elderly people:

An authorized guardian by the parents must accompany all travelers under the age of sixteen.

A person of more than 70 years of age, although in good health still needs a partner, family member, or friends to accompany him/her.

10: Nepal / Tibet Visas & Passport Conditions:

It is important that all clients should have a valid passport with at least six months of validity from the return date of travel.

Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. The costs of Nepalese visas are the sole responsibility of clients. All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity from the return date. As you are unable to obtain visas to Tibet you need to send your passport details to Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions for visa applications to travel in Tibet, we require this information at least three weeks prior to departure.

11: Risk and Liabilities:

Team Himalaya's main concern is your safety and satisfaction including our staff welfare, therefore we carry out all our assignments sincerely & honestly to ensure your holiday a Hassel hassle-free without any problems.

Nevertheless, unless stated otherwise, the trip may be changed under uncertain and inherent circumstances such as landslides, roadblocks, floods, heavy snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delayed arrival, sickness or accidents, etc. Any extra cost incurred there is your personal responsibility and should be borne on the spot.

Flight Delay/Cancellation:

Possibility of domestic flight delay or postponement due to bad weather in Himalayan regions which happens sometimes, in particular around Everest region Lukla, Phaplu, Annapurna / Mustang / Manang region Humde, Jomsom and on the Far West Dolpa, Simikot and Jumla region and on Far East sector Tumlingtar, and Taplejung area.

Trekking in remote areas or in as described above, especially during the off-season, you are highly advised to reserve extra days to prepare for some delays and avoid frustrating consequences.

In case of flight cancellation pre-tour/post-tour, you need to bear accommodation and food costs yourself.

12: Our Responsible Adventure Policy:

Our entire tour/trekking guide representing Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions deserves all authority during tours and trekking/rafting or on climbs.

Team Himalaya Treks & Expeditions will ensure to make every effort comfortable and satisfactory in all our trips, but one must understand that Himalayan or Third World and Developing Countries like Nepal cannot afford much of Western and highly timed facilities sometimes depending upon the area of travel, however, we will try our best to make your travel enjoyable with memorable time while with us.

Weather is another factor that directly impacts some trips, hence, patience in mind, enthusiasm, and proper preparation before heading is a must.

Your personal belongings:

On any account, we’re not responsible for any loss or damage of your baggage/luggage or property even when it is shouldered by our porters, ponies, or vehicles. Our trip escorts and guides will provide necessary safety precautions so that this does not arise while with us.

Papers & Documents:

All necessary papers and documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visas, necessary permits, etc. We’re not accountable in case of any trip formality not being completed in time before the trip departs in the absence of essential papers and documents.
