Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Tour is a pilgrimage. Both Mt. Kailash and Manasarovar are considered pilgrimage sites in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. According to Hindu and Buddhist Mythology, this is the mountain where God Shiva resides. The lake is located near Mansarovar Lake. God Shiva would sit for his perpetual meditation on this mountain with his wife Parvati. This mountain also stands for power and prosperity. Many pilgrims believe that the pilgrimage on foot around Mt. Kailash brings good fortune in life. The distance around Mt. Kailash is 52 km. And the people believe that they have to accomplish this pilgrimage in one day which is sometimes challenging. The stairways in this mountain lead people to the gate of Heaven. Because of inconveniences and altitude sickness, people find it hard to complete this journey in a single day.

Manasarovar is a high freshwater lake fed by glaciers from Mt. Kailash. This lake is considered to be the first lake created by God Brahma. Hindus and Buddhists believe that if people have a chance to drink water or wash their bodies with the water from this lake, they will cleanse all sins of their life and they will go to heaven. This lake is also a personification of purity, wisdom, and knowledge. Buddhists also claim that lord Buddha sat for meditation near this lake and got enlightened.

Mt. Kailash and Manasoravara Tour is connected by both Kathmandu and Lhasa. If we choose to fly from Kathmandu, we can get a flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa and then we have a drive to Mt. Kailsah. If we choose to drive from Kathmandu to Lhasa, that is also possible.

So, this tour is purely a pilgrimage tour to two holy sites located in Tibet. They carry great religious and cultural significance.

Another leisure and rest day for acclimatization at holy Lake Manasarover, located in West Tibet between Mt. Kailash 6,714 meters and the Gurla Mandhata Mountain Range at 7,694 meters. Lake Manasarover floats beneath the shadow of holy Kailash as the lake formed in the mind of God.
