The trek is moderate as there will be no climbing with ropes and all. Most of the trails such as Mardi Himal Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek involve long paths that might need you to go up and downs. So, it might be difficult for some people with back and ankle problems. But, with proper guidance and enough break times, almost anyone can complete the trek.

The Poonhill trek’s elevation is 3,190 m while the elevation of Thorong-la pass is 5,416 m. Generally, people get the symptoms of altitude sickness once they pass the 3000m elevation. So, to avoid uncertain circumstances it is better to get a health checkup and get a doctor consultation before doing the Annapurna Region Trekking.

The weather in the Himalayas is uncertain. But during the spring and the Autumn seasons weather doesn’t fluctuate much. To be on the safe side, the time from September to December is probably the best time to do the Mardi Himal Trek and most other treks in the Annapurna Region. If you want clear skies during the trek then January-December is the answer. But then it can be really cold during that time. You are also not generally advised to go trekking during the monsoon season of June to Mid-September as there is heavy rainfall.

You might have heard of the typical term “Dal Bhat”, which is both fulfilling and healthy as well. Most of the foods you get are grown by local farmers. You might not have a lot of items on the Menus in the upper regions. You will get food items such as pasta, pancakes, bread, eggs, coffee, hot lemon, etc.

Traveling alone can sometimes be the best thing you can do for yourself. But, with our guide, you will be well taken care of during the trek. Our company keeps the safety of woman traveler at the top priority.

The altitude of the Tilicho Lake is 4,919 m.

It is not necessary to spend your night in tents as there are several tea houses along the trek. So, we will not be using tents during the trek unless you want to have that kind of experience. If you have then you should probably let us know beforehand.

Well, it depends pretty much on what trek you choose. Some treks involve a lot of difficult paths and routes so, it will be hard for you to carry heavy bags on your own. Hiring a porter can be beneficial as you can fully enjoy the trek without having a backache.

The mobile phone signal has reached most of the Annapurna Region. So, in case you miss someone from your home you can quickly check upon them. There are also many phone services like charging and recharge cards in almost every part of the Annapurna Region if you need it.

Unfortunately, there aren’t such facility of ATM. So, you need to use the service before and after the trekking at Pokhara.

Firstly, our guides will sort out the things for you. However, if there is an emergency then the evacuation through helicopter can be done. For this reason, travel insurance is really important for you as it will help to cover up the fees for the helicopter rescue.

You can easily get gears at Kathmandu. You can also rent the required gears easily so, you should not be worried much about forgetting the gears.

The guides you will be getting are all Nepalese. Each of our guides is experienced, knowledgeable, flexible and licensed. They are all highly experienced professionals and know how to care for our valuable guests.

You will be resting in tea houses and lodges. These hotels and lodges are small but comfortable. You will get pillows, sheets, mattresses but in case you need spare blankets, you can ask for it. Bringing your pillow would be a great idea though. And some of you might not be comfortable to sleep without a hot shower. For that, you can get a hot shower at a certain cost.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu received by Team Himalaya staff.

On arrival meet our TH staff for courtesy transfer to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu at Thamel area, an interesting place for shopping and having meals in one of the many world class restaurants, pubs and bakery. Our guide will inform on details regarding the treks to short annapuran trek.

Day 02: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)

With an option of driving or taking a flight, whatever your choice and interest a scenic drive takes about 6 hours to Pokhara, which is quite interesting on the Nepal’s main highway following the Trisuli river for a while and then heading west with views of Ganesh, Langtang Himal as it gets closer to Pokhara with Annapurna and Manaslu range of peaks. In Pokhara the haven for tourist a scenic place with mountains and lakes, here in Pokhara transfer to hotel by the lake Phewa (Fewa) for overnight.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Gandruk 1, 850m – 5hrs.

A two hours drive away from Pokhara leading west, with fabulous views of Annapurna Himalaya ranging from A I, A II, A III and A IV with stunning Mt.Machhapuchare “Fish Tail” on reaching at Nayapul, begin the trek following Modi river for short distance to a nice village at Bhirethati and then following the Modi river upstream to Syali Bazaar, walk leads to a winding up hills with stone steps and passing the village of Kimche to reach at large hill village of Gandruk the gateway to many Annapurna treks and to Annapurna Sanctuary, here overnight in nice Gurung lodge with views of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail” peak.

Day 04: Trek to Sinewa2,340m– 06 hrs.

With lovely morning and views, starting with a short ascent on the top of Gandruk village with alpine forest, and then on the pleasant path for an hour and climb to the ridge top of Kimrong village with few lodges and then heading downhill through thick forest towards Kimrong river valley, after a nice stop here probably for tea break, and then a steep climb for an hour to a ridge in the forested area with couple of teashops and then on gradual trail with few short ups and down to reach the top of Chomrong village.. It’s a nice spot for Lunch break before heading sinuwa with views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli at close distance. Chomrong is a large Gurung village and the last permanent settlement the other lodge on route Annapurna Sanctuary a temporary area to serve trekkers. After top of chomrong walking down on stone staircase towards a small river and then after the bridge climb for about more than an hour to reach at Sinewa danda 2,340m overnight at guest house.

Day 05: Trek to Deaurali 3200m via Bamboo 2,050m – 06 :30hrs.

On leaving sinewa Journey start walking several ups and down for a while through the forests and gradual ascend on forested ridge then trail descend to Bamboo 2,050m ,surrounding with thick bamboo forest . Bamboo is a nice settlement with 5-6 lodges by the raging Modi river and in the middle of rhododendron and bamboo forest as the name given to this place. From here two hours of slow uphill walk reaches at Dovan .After Dovan gradual climb with short steeps ups and down in between till the walk reach at Himalaya Hotel beneath Annapurna South peak and Hinko large cave, and then a short climb climb about 45min to Deurali 3200m for overnight .

Day 06: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 3,720m – 06 hrs.

Today to our destination within Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp, morning start with walk leads by the raging river Modi on the uphill walk with few downs and gentle section, after leaving the lush vegetation and tree lines reaching on small plateau at Machhapuchhre base camp 3,720m for tea break, this is the starting and exit point of Annapurna Sanctuary, this nice place with 4-5 lodges beneath the majestic North Face of Fish Tail / Machhapuchhre peak at 6,997 meters high. After excellent tea break with spectacular snowcapped mountain views trek start with a gradual ascends on the grassy slope and then on a winding gentle trail with sparse vegetation in between towering peaks of Annapurna South, Huinchuli, Tent / Tharpuchuli, looking north the great wall of Annapurna mountain at 8,091 meters tenth world’s highest with Vara Shikar (A Fang) Gangapurna, Glacier Dome and behind rising Mt. Machhapuchhre and Annapurna III. Annapurna Sanctuary an awesome area encircled by tall mountains, on reaching the sanctuary and then to the overnight lodge at base camp, with free time in the afternoon, lunch with mountain views.

Day 07: Trek back to Bamboo – 06 hrs.

After a most overwhelming and scenic time within Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp, morning walk back on the same route to Bamboo place for overnight stop with long downhill and back into forested area in between short steep ascent.

Day 08: Trek to Jhinu danda with hot spring 1,700m – 05 hours.

Morning walk with a short steep climb and then on the gentle slope with downhill and short up to Sinwua danda with 2-3 lodges, from here descend to Chomrong river and then a climb to the village top of Chomrong with lunch here, afternoon heading back to Pokhara via different alternative route at first downhill to Jhinu danda village for overnight with hot spring nearby close to the river Modi of 30 minutes’ walk.

Day 09: Trek back to Nayapul 1,100m via Birethati and Drive back to Pokhara  – 05 hrs.

From Jhinu feeling fresh after reaching the destination of this trip to Annapurna base camp and sanctuary, morning walk with long descend to Nayapul 1,100m  via Birethati super views of snow-capped Mt. Machhapuchhre looks magnificent and about 45min drive to Pokhara of an hour scenic journey reaching Pokhara check into fine hotel by the lake Phewa for overnight with afternoon at leisure.(in Pokhara extension trips Paragliding, kayaking clinic, Ultra light flight, Zip Flyer on long cable wire or Bungy Jump called Touch the Lake).

Day 10: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.

From Pokhara a drive back to Kathmandu after 06 hours scenic journey reaching Kathmandu and people who wish to travel by air 30 minutes of panoramic flight to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels.

Day 11: International departure homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal after a wonderful memorable time in the Nepal Himalaya at Annapurna Sanctuary & Base Camp transfer to airport for the flight back home or to respective destination.
