Explore one of the most magnificent peaks, Chulu West Peak climbing in Nepal, a part of Manang Himal in the Annapurna region.  Discover idyllic lakes, waterfalls, rivers, dense forests and dramatic landscapes amid this untamed area by joining our twenty-five day long Chulu West Peak Climbing. The expedition offers magnificent vistas of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, and other Himalayan peaks.

The route to Chulu West Peak Climbing winds through towering cliffs, rocky trails, lush meadows, arid valleys and alpine landscapes.  The forested sections are dotted with moss-covered rhododendron trees, fir trees, pine trees and houses prolific flora and fauna. The Chulu West Peak Climbing route continues to hug the monasteries, stupas, ethnic villages, small settlements, fields, temples and kharkhas.

The trail filled with steep rock scrambles demands intense physical strength making it ideal for those willing to enjoy mountain adventure. Though technical knowledge and pre-climbing training is not mandatory but will come handy if you know how to handle the gears like ropes, ice pick, harness etc. If you don’t have these skills don’t worry, we will organize a training sessions before heading for the trek. Since the trek demand strength and we will be walking 5-6 hours every day for around 18-19 days, it’s wise to start walking at least 12km each day for three months prior embarking into the trip.

Beshishahar, The trailhead of the Chulu West Peak is a six hours drive from Kathmandu. Our trek begins shortly after an early morning breakfast. We will stroll in the Manang valley and spend a day for acclimatization. The arid valley boosts epic landscapes and ethnic villages. We will spend a day exploring the beautiful small town, enjoy the view of Marshyangdi river and embark into a short hike. Our trail winds north from Manang leading to the Chulu West Base Camp. After conquering the summit at an altitude of 6584m, we will take a short break, enjoy the snow, shade and wind, before heading back to base camp. We then head back to the trailhead walking through Manang.

Our well equipped, passionate, and English-speaking guide will give you the insight into the culture, tradition and lifestyle of the people residing in this area. We will have a fleeting interaction with the local lives while enjoying our meals. We can enjoy various dishes, including typical Nepali good, international cuisines and ethnics dishes. The trek will give us opportunity to explore some world’s tallest alps, introduce us to a number of rare animals and plants and spend time with some of the most welcoming people in the world. This trek provides something more than adventures, something you will cherish rest of your life.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival on Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel: Our representative will be waiting for you in the terminal with a nameplate. They will drive you to your respective hotel. We will meet in the evening for the welcome dinner. We will take you to the Nepali restaurant where you will get to enjoy typical Nepali food. You will spend a night at a hotel.

Day 02: Free Day in Kathmandu: Chulu West Peak Climbing requires some skills. Today we will spend our day learning the ways to handle some of the gears like rope, ice pick, harness etc. we will discuss the trek. If time permits we will stroll around the nearby market. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar: An early morning starts take us to a scenic 6 hours drive gradually passing though the small villages, terraced fields, larger stream, raging Trishuli river, small forests and small time. After reaching Besisahar, we will spend the rest of the day exploring the place. After a delicious meal, we wills Spend a night at a cozy hotel.

Day 04: Trek from Besisahar to Bahundada: In the first day of our trek, we will walk around six hours. The trail follows the graveled, dusty road to Bulbule then we head to Ngadi passing by rivers, walking on rough but flat road. Trail form Nagdi to Bahundada gives us tentative idea of how scenic and beautiful our trek is going to be. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 05: Trek from Bahundada to Sange: We continue treading along the beautiful meadows, villages and rice fields. The trail start to get little difficult as we move to higher altitude but the beautiful sceneries will keep our mind away from the feeling of tiredness. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 06: Trek from Sange to Thonje: We will resume our trek after an early morning breakfast. Today we walk through small settlements, meadows and small streams . Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07: Trek from Thonje to Chame: Today’s hike will expose you to the dramatic landscapes and different ecology. The more we hike up the more weather get dry and cooler. On this route, we will get the first glimpse of Annapurna II. We continue hiking until we reach Chame. We call it a day after a delicious meal.

Day 08: Trek from Chame to Pisang: A five hour trek will take us through Marshyangdi river, enchanting spruce and pine forest. We continue to tread until we reach a beautiful village surrounded by the apple orchids. We spend few minutes enjoying the view then continue our journey to Pisang. We will have a delicious local meal and spend a night at a hotel.

Day 09: Trek from Pisang to Manang: Today we will tread through the drier area. On the way we will come across yaks, terraced fields and green hills. As we move forward we can see a panoramic view of Annapurna II towering in the distance. We will walk through Humde and Braga village. In Braga village we will explore one of the oldest monasteries of this region. The monastery reflects the ancient tradition and culture that trace back to six hundred years. From here we will reach Manang in less than an hour. We will spend a night at a hotel.

Day 10: Acclimatization day in Manang: Today is a day for rest and relaxation. However, we won’t spend the whole day sleeping in a hotel. After early morning breakfast we will hike to Ice Lake then explore the Manang. The valley is highly influenced by the Tibetan culture which is reflected in their dress, tone and lifestyle. Here we can see a number of spin wheel, inscriptions and stupas. We will stroll around the village.  Spend a night at hotel.

Day 11: Trek from Manang to Ledder: Today we will walk for four to five hours. We will walk approximately seven-hundred meters. The zig-zag trail is filled with minor ups and downs. We will stop on the way to take the photographs of the mesmerizing surrounding. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 12: Trek from Ledder to Chulu West Base Camp: Today’s route is short but due to the steep trail it will take us around five to six hours to reach Chulu West Base Camp. We will embark on our journey after an early morning breakfast. The trail passes through rocky terrains, kharkas and panoramic sceneries. We will tread though the snows before arriving Chulu West Base Camp. We will spend few minutes enjoying the chilling mountain air, taking pictures and exploring the camp. Overnight stay in a tent.

Day 13: Trek from Chulu West Base Camp to High Camp: It will take us more than 8 to 9 hours to reach the High Camp as we will be ascending and descending gradually until we reach high camp. Our guide will set a tent and we will spend our night there. We will have our lunch, dinner and breakfast in the tent.

Day 14: Acclimatization day at High Camp: Today we will spend a day roaming around the high camp in order to prepare our body to adjust in the higher altitude. We will spend a night at a camp.

Day 15: Trek from High Camp to Summit: We will conquer the summit in five hours. We will begin our journey to our ultimate destination after an early morning breakfast. We will tread on snow filled trail until we reach summit. We will spend some moments observing vistas of mountain ranges and sparkling snows. We will set up the tent and spend a night.

Day 16: Trek from summit to Chulu West Base Camp: Today we will head back to Chulu West Base Camp after an early morning breakfast. The walk will be difficult as we will have to descend on the rough, slippery trail most of the day. Today we will walk for 9 to 10 hours. Overnight stay in the tent.

Day 17: Trek from Chulu West Base Camp to Manang: Post breakfast, we will stroll through the rocky terrain, kharkhas and rocky cliffs. Minor ups and downs will take us to Leddar. We then head to Manang. After a luscious meal, we call it a day.

Day 18: Trek from Manang to Pisang: We will be accompanied by the yaks, locals and beautiful sceneries throughout the way. Crossing Braga and Humde village, we will reach Manang. We will have delectable ethnic meal and spend a night at a hotel.

Day 19: Trek from Pisang to Chame: We will start our journey descending gently on the steep trail. Our today’s trek will take us to a village amid apple orchid. There we can buy local wine prepared by apple. Crossing enchanting forest filled with pine and spruce trees, passing by Marshyandi river, we will reach Chame. We will spend rest of the day strolling around the village. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 20: Trek from Chame to Syange: Post breakfast, we resume our hike to Sange. We will start by hiking out of the Chame. We will continue to ascend and descend until we reach Thonje. Leaving Thonje behind we continue our journey to Sange. Upon reaching Sange, we will have a dinner and take rest.

Day 21: Trek from Syange to Bahundada: We will walk across beautiful meadows, stream, small waterfalls and beautiful village. The trail is relatively easy. We will spend a night at a hotel.

Day 22: Trek from Bahundada to Beshisahar: Leaving the beautiful village behind, we will walk on the beautiful trail dotted by meows, rivers and amazing sceneries however after hour or two we will reach a graveled road filled with a dirt and pot holes. In six hours we will reach Beshisahar. We will spend our evening celebrating our victory over one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 23: Drive from Beshisahar to Kathmandu: We will start our journey early in the morning. Enjoying the scenic drive on the snaky hilly road, we will head to Kathmandu. We will transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day taking the much-needed rest or exploring the nearby market. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 24: Visit Kathmandu valley: Today, we will visit several places in Kathmandu valley, including Bouddha, Pashupati Naath, Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square in a private vehicle. After spending some hours roaming around the city, we will transfer you to your hotel. You may stroll in the local market of Thamel and buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Here you can find everything from expensive branded pieces to simple yet elegant handmade crafts. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 25: Today is your last day in Nepal. Our airport representative will pick you from your hotel three hours prior to your flight and transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport. We will bid a final goodbye with a hope of seeing you again. We hope you enjoy your stay.
