Nagarkot

Nagarkot is one of the most popular hill stations in the country. It’s close enough to Kathmandu so it also receives quite a few local and foreign tourists. If you’re planning to visit Pokhara while in Nepal, you should definitely go to Sarangkot. This hill station is located at a height of 1,600 m and allows you the full panoramic scene of Himalayan peaks like Annapurna II, Machhapuchhare, and Dhaulagiri above the Pokhara valley.
You will be mesmerized to see the sun's rays giving the golden glow to these snow-white peaks. If you want to catch the best view of sunrise in Nepal you will have to wake up incredibly early. From Pokhara, you can take the road to reach Sarangkot, which takes about half an hour, after which you will need to walk another half hour to reach the viewpoint. If you’re in the mood to walk, it will take you 3 hours to reach the top.

Kala Patthar

If you want the best view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Kalapatthar is where you should go. You will be amazed to see the sun rising behind the world’s highest peak at dawn.
While the view is spectacular, reaching there is not for everyone. You will need to do the Everest Base Camp Trek, which takes about 12 days to complete. If you think you’re up for it, get your trekking shoes on, rest assured, your hard work will be worth it.

Poon Hill

Poon Hill is another magnificent viewpoint of the Annapurna region. Also known as the Photographer’s Paradise, you will be able to get an amazing view of the sunrise in Nepal from here. The sights are closer and clearer compared to those from Sarangkot. Again, this is another trekking destination. You will have to do the Poon Hill Trek and it takes about 5 days to complete the trek. Located at 3200 m, be prepared to be amazed at breathtaking sights.

Gokyo Ri

Gokyo ri is one of the best viewpoints, located in the Everest region. Perhaps it’s the best advantage viewpoint to catch the sunrise & sunset over giant snow-capped mountains from Gokyo Ri at 5,357 meters, which is the highest spot of this amazing trip, after a steep hard haul to the top looking around awesome panorama of world’s highest mountains from Mt. Cho Oyo 8,201 m straddling the border with Tibet along with Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest 8,848 m world’s number one, then worlds fourth highest Mt. Lhotse 8,516 m, Cholatse, Taweche and to the east worlds 05th highest Mt. Makalu at 8,463 m. You will have to do the earthier Gokyo and Chola Pass to Everest base camp Trek.
