With Team Himalayan, embark on a memorable and beautiful journey to the most picturesque regions of central Nepal –Langtang and Gosaikunda. The Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek will take you to an unforgettable journey through the lush green forests, centuries old villages, exotic and rich ecosystem towards the snowy alpine vicinity for the most amazing view of central mountains.
The 17-day-long journey will begin with a memorable 8 hours long bus ride from Kathmandu toSyabruBesi in Rasuwa district. We will begin our trekking journey from SybaruBesi and trek through old fashioned villages like Lama Hotel and Langtang village to reach KyanjinGompa. The Gompa is one of the oldest in region and pose high religious significance. From there, we will trek down to ThuloSyabry and subsequently ShingGompa, another important pilgrim site in region. From there, we will trek towards our main destination – Gosaikunda. While returning, we will take a different route to explore the region some more. We will trek down to Sundarijal via Gopte, Kutumsang, Gulbhanjyang, and Chisopani. The trek comes to an end at Sundarijal from where we will travel back to Kathmandu for a city heritage tour.
The relatively less visited Langtang region is a Himalayan Shangri-La, so close to the proximity of the city life. After being hugely affected by the 2015 earthquake, the region has been reopened for trekking. The trail leads through a diverse landscape ranging from lush forests to pouring streams and mountain vegetation. Throughout the trek and from several viewpoints, we can relish in the excellent views of mountains like LangtangLirung, DorjeLakpa, Gang Chhenpo, Lenpo Gang amongst other satellite peaks. Since the region houses over 70 glaciers, we can also see the amazing glaciers sourcing from the mountains. There are also over a dozen big and small alpine lakes like DudhKunda and VairavKunda in the region, which we can visit by extending and modifying the itinerary.
Another main highlight of the trek is the famous Gosaikunda Lake at an elevation of 4,380m after crossing the enthralling Gosaikunda Pass at elevation of 4,609m. The sight of the pristine alpine lake with its rich turquoise hues and the views of the silver peaks reflecting it in make it a truly gratifying experience for every trekker. Other perks of the LangtangGosaikunda Trek are enjoying the sunrise and sunset views on mountains from different viewpoints, the views of several icy glaciers and lakes, lying down in yak pastures, and the hikes through magical rhododendron forests. It will also be an excellent spiritual and cultural journey as we will visit the two major Gompas of the region take blessing from the Lamas, and experience the rich culture of the native inhabitants – Tamangs. Since the region is protected largely under the Langtang National Park act, we also have good chances of sightings of exotic Himalayan animals like red panda, Himalayan Thar, musk deer, and snow leopard.
Any enthusiastic individual in good physical health makes a good candidate for the trek; however, past trekking experience is preferable.
